Genis Steel (SA) is a structural steel fabrication business situated at Lionsgate Business Park in Elizabeth South.  

We seek to employ an experienced individual with strong organizational skills to fill the position of Workshop Manager in our state of the art production facility. The role involves close liaison between management and workshop staff and dictates a requirement for good communication skills and a positive “can do” attitude. 

You will be reporting to the Managing Director, whilst being responsible for maintaining team harmony and production operations to ensure deadlines, quality and safety standards are being met.  

Requirements: 

• Substantial experience in supervision / management within heavy engineering and structural fabrication industry 
• Must be able to read and interpret technical workshop drawings 
• Understanding of structural steel and plate fabrication 
• Strong organizational and communication skills  
• Problem solving skills 
• The ability to prioritize in a business environment where multiple projects are competing for attention 
• Be a team player but also exhibit strong leadership skills 
• Can work in a high pressure fast paced environment 
• Responsible, reliable and the ability to pay attention to details and quality standards 
• General computer skills and proficiency in the use of software programs such as Trimble Connect & Strumis is desirable 

Renumeration will be set according to the level of experience of the successful applicant.
