Specialist modular construction factory
Our Geelong modular construction facility is the heart of Genis Steel’s structural steel operations for modular buildings across Australia. Built to support high-quality, high-volume modular construction, the facility allows us to give modular builders the capacity, precision and expertise they need to deliver outstanding results.
While the majority of our modular construction clients are in Victoria, we supply structural steel modules for construction Australia-wide. We help our clients build residential prefab homes, large-scale commercial modular buildings, industrial developments and infrastructure projects like education and healthcare facilities.
High production capacity
At peak production, our Geelong facility can produce up to four fully fabricated large modules per day (the equivalent of two complete residential buildings) ready for fit-out by modular builders. We have the capacity to build modules up to 5.5 m wide, 18 m long and 3m high – all fabricated to millimetre-perfect tolerances for seamless integration.

- 4,000 m² undercover space designed for large-scale modular fabrication
- 3 cranes (10, 26 and 50 tonne capacity) for safe and efficient handling of heavy steel modules
- 16-metre spring height for greater flexibility with large modules
Dedicated modular team
We have 16 highly skilled boilermakers on site who only work on modular builds, day in and day out. We also have an in-house specialist modular design team with advanced shop-drawing capabilities. Our team is dedicated to excellence; our modules are millimetre-perfect.
