ALDI Warehouse and Distribution Centre
Genis Steel worked with Qanstruct to deliver one of the largest high-bay structures in Victoria for supermarket giant ALDI. The 11-month build will feature 45-metre-high bays and use around 7,500 tonnes of steel.
High-bay structures require specialist rigging skills, as the overall erection methodology differs significantly. Temporary propping needs to be incorporated into the main structure to ensure a safe build and to accommodate all other services that follow the riggers.
The Genis Steel team spent considerable time determining how best to prepare the high-bay structure before the build began, to ensure the temporary design would suit the follow-on trades. They also implemented weekly meetings with the builder, consultants, and other subcontractors to coordinate site access and ensure that all aspects of the build fit together seamlessly.
