New Buddhist temple for Deer Park

After securing community funding, the Avalokitesvara Yuan Tong Monastery community began looking for a structural steel fabricator and rigger to build their new monastery. Genis Steel was selected for the work after a competitive process and the team were delighted to support this important community project. 

Community builds often face unique challenges, include funding uncertainty. The Genis Steel team advised their client to use galvanised steel on the project, so that the steel would be protected if funding challenges delayed the project.   

Working directly with the community organisation was very rewarding for the team as they could use their skills, knowledge and insight to help their client navigate the overall build process and guide decision-making.  

At two storeys high, with open interior, gabled roof and perimeter walkway, the Avalokitesvara Yuan Tong Monastery will be a stunning addition to Deer Park’s landscape and the Buddhist community.
