RAA Technical Centre

599 Port Road, West Croydon, SA

Vertical fins, atrium, feature in three-storey RAA Technical Centre

In 2024, RAA announced it was developing a new, purpose-built technical centre in West Croyden. Genis Steel was delighted to help site developer Emmett Construct with the build, cementing an important relationship between the two teams. Scheduled to open in 2026, the RAA Technical Centre will feature a dynamic workshop as well as immersive member experiences, a retail presence and a café.

The Genis Steel team supplied over 250 tonnes of steel for the three-storey, 3000 m2 building which will house more than 400 employees. The building was designed with vertical fins – two steel plates held apart – along the exterior and this striking architectural detail sets it apart in the landscape. Within the building, a grand entrance was created with an unrestricted view from the ground level up through to the atrium.

Genis Steel worked closely with the entire build team, often coordinating delivery with multiple trades, to make sure every deadline was met so that there could be a smooth, on-time transition into the subsequent build stages.
